Dot Com Boom

I was just a kid of the Dot Com Boom,
Born to excess and raised to consume,
The Preacher streams from an empty room,
TO a congregation switched on to doom,
And they ain’t never seen a hive mind, plugged in in real time like ours,
I was just a kid of the Dot Com Boom,
Born to excess and raised to consume,
The Old Gentleman misread the signs,
Where he once was ahead he fell behind the times,
It’s time to change the guard asleep at the wheel,
Bring this ship back to an even keel,
Disaster rips on a rolling tide,
It’s not time to stall but to choose what side you’re on,
The Old Gentleman misread the signs,
Where ho once was ahead he fell behind the times,
Well it hit like a hammer but was no surprise,
On the 16th of June when the fascists rise,
And the world starts to cook among an endless fire,
That’s the struggle that goes down to the wire,
We still fight over who when and why,
If we’re to overcome then its time now to unite,
Well It hit like a hammer but was no surprise,
On the 16th of June when the fascists rise
I was just a kid of the dot com boom,
Born to excess and raised to consume
Born to excess and raised to consume

Time Stands Still

Can't take the train back up North these days,
Without breaking the bank or getting stuck in delays,
And It all reminds me of when these roads where home,
The dust in the air, or the moss on the old dry stone,
No I can't forget that dusty old town,
The freedom it gave and all the shit that went down,
I'm a kid of the North and it stays with me now,
Ten years on still running aground,
But I, find it funny how fast things change,
What decays and what remains,
But I don't regret a thing,
Time only stands still once it's past you by,
Riding that shotgun seat as the whole town sleeps,
From dusk till dawn we were kings of the streets,
Just seventeen without a need for a means to an end,
Just friends, before life’s first bends yet,
Some waited round while some moved on,
Some lived for now but then they were gone,
Too long, yet return when the wind gets strong,
I find it funny how fast things change,
What decays and what remains,
But I don't regret a thing,
Time only stands still once it's past you by,
Yet I, find it funny how fast things change,
What decays and what remains,
But I don't regret a thing,
Time only stands still once it's past you by,
